Jeanne Clark

Jeanne Clark is a patent examination policy advisor with the Manual of Patent Examining Procedure (MPEP) staff. In that role, she develops and implements changes in patent law by primarily making revisions to the MPEP. She is also involved in numerous legal projects, including the implementation of the Patent Law Treaty and proposed changes to the regulations and policies.
Ms. Clark started her career at the USPTO as an examiner in 1992, in Technology Center 3700, examining applications for medical devices. She became a Primary Examiner in 1997. Throughout her career, Jeanne Clark has been very involved in the development of patent law.
Jeanne Clark has received two Bronze Medal Awards for sustained excellence in the performance of official duties in 1999 and 2002, the Exceptional and Distinguished Career Awards for exceptional contributions to the achievement of the missions and goals of the USPTO in 2005 and 2015, respectively. She was also recognized by the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) for Outstanding Contribution in Intellectual Property Law in 2012.
Ms. Clark holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University, a M.S.E. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Michigan, and a Juris Doctor from The George Washington University, with honors.
