Hacky Hour with Scott Woods
Over the past couple years of running meetups and working with developers, we realized that there are probably close to 1,000 software developers in the Happy Valley region, and they almost never get together to hang out and hack. We wanted to provide a time and a space for that to happen. It's an informal meetup. New Leaf has couches, tables, conference rooms. People can use the time to hang out with people that they know, meet new people, work with a pair on a project, or just sit on a couch and code solo. We will have some good snacks and drinks. It won't be a full dinner, but it will be enough to keep everyone in a good mood. Feel free to bring your own food and drinks.

Internship Potluck
Internship Potluck is a gathering of local small business owners with specific student needs and students who are seeking a local internship opportunity. Food is provided by the business owners who attend. GEW will be providing some food as well. It is an informal event where students and community discuss their project or needs and students may ask questions of multiple local business owners. Food is always ample and varied. The space is the communal house for local entrepreneurs with both students and young professionals living in the ‘co.space’.

Here is an informal op to pitch your company and an internship opportunity to students who attend the potluck.   In the past two years some great connections have been fostered.  The only cost to the business is some sort of food and their time.  It is typically a great evening in a friendly environment in the ‘co.space’ on Nittany Ave.  To sign up to be one of the companies who pitch, email Dustin Betz dustindavidbetz@gmail.com.
