Business Financial Management Essentials Timely, consistent, and accurate record keeping is essential to monitor business performance, prepare tax returns, and make well-informed decisions regarding a business.
The Penn State Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is offering
Business Financial Management Essentials. This series will provide business owners and managers with the skills and knowledge needed to set up an accounting system, track income and expenses, maintain financial records, understand and analyze cash flow and utilize QuickBooks™ accounting software for their businesses.
Many businesses have ‘gone broke while making a profit.’ Why does this happen? Because
profit doesn’t necessarily mean cash. In this workshop you will learn the difference between cash flow and profit, as well as how to:
- assess and manage your cash flow
- project your business’s short-term and long-term cash flow needs
- analyze a cash flow statement
- understand an accountant-prepared cash flow statement
